Kilovac Offers Three EV Pre-Charge Relays
Electric vehicle power systems typically have smoothing capacitors in the motor controller, and Kilovac offers a variety of 320 Vdc pre-charge relays that can be used to "pre-charge" these capacitors.

Kilovac's newest pre-charge relay, the EV4, provides the lowest cost solution for smaller systems, or for systems that do not need to be pre-charged quickly. It can make 4 Amps, but cannot break a load.
Kilovac's PD5 pre-charge relay can both make and break a 5 Amp load, but is about twice the price of the EV4. If the application does not require the relay to break the load, the modest increase in current may not be worth the extra money. For only about ten percent more money than the PD5, you may want to consider Kilovac's PD-10 which can handle a 10 Amp load.
Kilovac's PD-10 relay is ideal for high current pre-charge and auxiliary power switching needs. It can handle a 10 Amp load (make and break) and is available in both printed circuit board and panel type mountings.
