Climate Cycling with Condensation

This test is used to evaluate resistance to corrosion in climate cycling with condensation in an atmosphere containing sulfur dioxide.

To perform this test, the test piece is placed in a test chamber where it is subjected to dew formation under the simultaneous influence of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and temperature cycling.

The test severity is defined by:
  • the SO2 concentration (typically 0.067 per cent by volume),
  • the duration of the test (e.g. 5 cycles).
This test is performed according to EN ISO 6988 (formerly: DIN 50018).
