Temperature Cycling

This test is used to evaluate the resistance of the relay to temperature cycling in the air such as can occur during operation, storage and transport.

To perform this test, the test piece is placed in a test chamber where it is subjected to alternating air temperatures where the temperature change takes place at a defined speed.

The test severity is defined by:
  • the two temperatures (e.g. -40 °C and +85 °C)
  • the speed of the temperature change (e.g. 5 °C per minute)
  • the number of temperature cycles (e.g. 10 cycles)
This test is performed according to the IEC 68-2-14, Na test.
